It has been awhile since my last update, mostly this was was down to the weather and the serious flooding that happened in Oxfordshire as reported by the national press extensively. Things seemed to have picked up now and the forecast was good so I decided to try for a bit of early Saturday morning freight.

In the summer there is a nice early morning shot at Radley so I woke at sunrise and went out to see what was running. I was hoping I might catch a late running freightliner but nothing showed so it just left the one booked early morning working I know of, the 4M72 Southampton – Washwood Heath which is due Didcot around 07:00 but was running early today as it passed me at Radley at 06:45 with 66044 at the head of a rather empty intermodal.

A short while later I was back out again to bag the next workings of the day as a couple of freightliners were due South within half and hour. I opted for the shot at Didcot North and first up was 66580 working 4O14 Ditton – Southampton following it was 66568 on 4O27 Garston – Southampton. I decided to put up the shot of 66580 and it appears to have suffered some collision damage in the past as repairs have been carried out to the cab corner.
