Just a quick note to say that after a mammoth session I have finally converted and uploaded all of the archives dating back to the very beginning of this website when I first went digital just over 3 years ago. Everything should be working fine but if you spot any problems please drop me an email and I’ll get it fixed. Right time for brew I think!
Happy New Year and welcome to my first post of 2007, it has been a couple of months since my last update but I’m back with something a bit unusual today. First Great Western have started putting their Mk3 HST stock through refurbishment and the first vehichles were ready for collection. To pick up the stock a barrier stock move was organised from Old Oak Common – Derby via Didcot hauled on the saturday morning

Traction for the move was GBRf 66727 and 66726 which had recentley been unveiled at Wembley earlier the previous week in First group house colours. Running as 5Z81 Old Oak – Derby the pair sandwich the barrier vehichles as they head north through Didcot North Junction with the Bristol Bluebirds headboard.
Part Two
Once I had got home Ifound out the timings for the return working and saw that it had a two minute booked stop at Didcot which I guessed might be for a crew change so I decided to try my luck and head over and try for a night phot.

Upon arrival it appeared a few other people had the same idea as there must have been 15-20 waiting for the same working. A last minute annoucement over the tannoy advised it would be arriving on P5 so a quick dash and I had my camera setup as it pulled into the platform. I had to laugh when I heard one of the locals inform the GB traincrew awaiting to take the train forward tell them that it wouldn’t be stopping at Didcot!
