My first update in over a month and even this one is 5 days late…..oops! Last weekend was a bank holiday weekend and Network Rail decided to do some track work in the Slough area for the whole weekend. This meant no trains could get through the blockade until Tuesday morning. Virgin have been using EWS Class 67s and MK2s on summer Saturday workings to the South West and have been running ECS workings to and from Old Oak Common, due to the Slough blockade the ECS workings couldn’t get through until Tuesday
I got some timings early Tuesday morning and decided to go to one of my faviurite locations out at Denchworth. The ECS working was running slighty late but while waiting 66049 ran into the loop on a Avonmouth – Didcot coal working. Shortly after 67002 came flying along with the empty stock with 67003 dead on the rear.
